The Search for The "Super" Cougar

A Legacy of Tradition

Being the Superintendent of Ada City Schools is the highest honor I have ever had in my professional career. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your Cougar family for the last 30 years.
Dear Ada School Family, As you might know, Superintendent Mike Anderson recently announced that he will retire at the end of the school year. We are incredibly thankful for Mr. Anderson’s leadership and guidance over the years. He has done a wonderful job of developing a long-term vision for the district and balancing our services with the current needs of our students and staff. Though we will miss seeing him in the halls of our schools, we wish him well in his next endeavors. Selecting the right superintendent to lead our district is one of the most important roles we have as school board members. We recently approved a partnership with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) to help facilitate the search for our next district leader. The OSSBA assists districts with advertising openings, recruiting potential candidates, furnishing an online application management system, and providing guidance and support throughout the search process. With OSSBA’s support, we are confident that our board will find an education professional to lead our district forward on its path of success. As we begin the search for our next superintendent, it is our top priority to hear from you! We hope you will take a few minutes to complete an online survey, sharing the characteristics, qualities and experiences you value in a superintendent. Your input will help ensure that we select an education professional who reflects our district’s vision for the future. Parents, students, staff and community members are invited to participate in a brief, online survey beginning Monday, Feb. 24. Located on the district’s website – adacougars.net – the survey will be available through Friday, March 14. Please know that throughout every step of the search process we will be thinking about what is best for our students, our staff and our community. We hope you will take time to participate in the survey, and as always, thank you for your support of the Ada Cougars! We can’t wait to hear from you! Sincerely, Members of the Ada Board of Education
