Ada High School will be giving an ACT on February 25th at the High School.  Any student is welcome to sign up and take this test.  The cost is $52.00 and you can sign up with Coach Swopes. Space is limited so please pay when you sign up to reserve your spot.

Juniors are welcome to take this exam; however, this will not replace the state mandated ACT in April.  Even if you take the one in February, you will still be required to take the one in April.

If you need a cap and gown you can pick up a packet in the office and bring the completed packet and money to Coach Swopes.  You can also order them online at

The FAFSA opens on October 1st.  Everyone should fill this out, even if you don't think you have a chance.  This is free money.  Some colleges require you to fill this out before they will offer you any scholarships.

You and your parents will have to obtain an FSA ID in order to fill out the FAFSA.  This can done HERE.  It takes a few days for your FSA ID to get verified.

Once you have your FSA ID you fill out your FAFSA.  You can do that HERE.

There are 3 main types of scholarships you can apply for:

National and State
School Specific

National and State scholarships are everywhere.  There is a scholarship for almost anything you can think of.  You just need to be willing to do the work to look for  them.  As I get scholarships sent to me I will put them on the Scholarship Rack and send out a Remind letting students know about them.

Local scholarships will start getting sent to us second semester.  I will put the scholarships on the Scholarship Rack and send out a Remind.

School Specific scholarships are specific to whatever school you are applying to. Most schools have it set up to when you apply for admission you are automatically applying for their scholarships.  However, check with the school, because they do not all do this.  You can only use those scholarships if you attend that school.  Most of their deadlines are in January or February, but again it varies by school, so check with them.

Senior Timeline: The following link is a suggested senior timeline from Oklahoma College Start.  They give a lot of good tips about what you want to be looking to do each month.
