  • STAR-QUEST in its 18th Year

Date: 10/24/18 This year, 6th grade students will once again have an opportunity to go on the Florida StarQuest science trip, led by Lee Ann Gray and Jeanie Neal.  Mrs. Gray took the first group in 2002 and it will be the 18th year for this hands-on, educational experience. During the week-long field studies program, students will gain a unique ecological perspective while participating in activities that take place at Egmont Key on Florida's west coast. These activities include, kayaking, snorkeling and dissecting sharks.  Next, they will participate in innovative science and technology-based learning while at EPCOT.  They will also go behind the scenes at Disney's Magic Kingdom to learn how the basic principles of physics are presented using some of the world's largest visual aids.  Finally, our students examine the space shuttle launch area up close, as well as actual rockets and spacecraft, while visiting Kennedy Space Center.  They will also have a question and answer lunch with an astronaut and learn about the history of U.S. space exploration. This year's trip will be June 2-6, 2019.  Please contact Mrs. Lee Ann Gray at 310-7250 if you would like more information.
